KML made 4 of 9 three-pointers in last night's game. At least 2 misses were wide open shots from the right corner. At least one of the misses appeared wide left (one of the exceptions to Geno's theory). In any event, this got me thinking about corner 3s and whether Kaleena prefers one corner to the other and whether her shooting % is better in one corner vs the other. I'm sure the staff keeps charts on her shots and I'd love to see what they show.
The corner 3 is considered the highest % 3-pointer because it's the shortest distance to the basket. I've heard some shooters say that the backboard affects their shot when shooting from the same corner as their dominant hand. Yet, I know that Odyssey Sims, a left-handed shooter, shot better from the left corner.
These are the types of things I think about when watching a game. I'd love to see some data on this.

Any shot from whatever point along the baseline is taken with no backboard reference. 'Course, if you are shooting relying on a backboard reference, with no intention to use it in the shot, you are lost already. Not to be immodest, I had a killer jump shot from pretty much wherever I wanted to jack it. It came from something the first and best coach I ever had told me. That was: forget the backboard and forget the rim. Visualize a hole hanging in space and visualize it until you don't need it anymore.

I'm left handed and I always shot better from the right side, but I didn't really like the corner shot. From slightly right of the middle of the court to a few feet to the right was my money zone.
I'm sure all shooters have their favored spots.

I noticed KML missing wide-open shots from the corner. Based on recent games, I think the right wing may be her spot.
Yes, the corner shot is the shortest, but the top of the key gives you the best perspective and also a chance for the shot to drop if it is short or long.
