According to John, over the last six games Jefferson is 41 for 57 from the field (76%)... 14 for 18 from 3 pt range (77%)... scored 107 pts, w/ 32 assists & 22 steals.... just 9 turnovers...all that in 175 minutes. Over six games that is awesome. Over an entire season that is All-American..!! Go MoJeff..!!

No one sustains those shooting numbers at guard for a whole season. It is beyond All-American.

This will prove problematic for the voters. They have Stewie as an AA and she should repeat easily. KML is also an AA - not quite as solid, but could easily repeat. Then, if MoJett and Tuck continue playing like they are playing, what do you do? You can't have 4 from one time.

At this moment in time (to use an old cliche) Moriah is the number 2 AA on the team (perhaps even #1) If she continues like this, NPOY is not out of the question

You have to dazzle to be NPOY, don't you think? Moriah dazzles me with her speed and her relentless guarding. I wonder if she'll dazzle the voters.
Who votes, by the way? Coaches? Can Geno vote for Mo?

Isn't it true that NPOY, etc. are chosen before March madness? Or not? I forgot.

She also dazzles with her smile. I always get the feeling she is the happiest, most engaged kid in the world. And a heck of a thief;).

No one sustains those shooting numbers at guard for a whole season. It is beyond All-American. Obviously, the shooting percentage will come back down to earth. But the scoring average of less than 18 per game is possible over the remainder of the season, as is the average of 5.3 assists, 3.6 steals and 1.5 turnover per game. The 14 made 3's comes out to 2.3 per game and even the made baskets of 6.8 per game isn't unreasonable. My point was that excelling for 6 games doesn't earn Moriah the AA, but keeping her all around game at this level, or even close to it, through the end of the season, probably will. Go MoJeff...!!

Can Geno vote for Mo? Well there are really 4 NPOY awards. My understanding is Naismith - done by the Atlanta Tip Off Club. I believe they use a selection board from it's members. Wade - done by WBCA. So coaches vote here. Wooden - done by LA Athletic Club. Sportswriters and sportscasters AP - done by writers Last year Stewart won the Naismith and AP NPOYs. Sims won the Wade. Ogwumike won the Wooden.

With those numbers and looking at the numbers and impact of our starters theyre all 1st team AA and Nurse and Gabby FOY. Now I know that wont happen but it will be close. When you think about next years freshman class along with Butler we are only going to get better. Its almost unfair. That's why so many top teams wont play UConn. It a reality check, and total humiliation. Im sure StJohns feels pretty good after coming so close to not being exterminated like many of UConns other opponents.
