I really like VanSlooten, but Uconn just signed SS. Seems a little redundant. I think SS is poised to jump right into starting lineup. Beers just makes more sense to me right now. I'd love to see a physical paint enforcer that can punish and score on the low blocks. Kiki is going to light it up for someone next season. Difficult to get west coast kids to come this far though.

Great point on VanSlooten and Strong. I don't think Geno is interested no matter the rumors.

The men's game suffers from one and done and now the women's game has the equivalent - the portal. One of the many reasons why I became a UConn fan was because the team stayed as a team for the entire 4 years. So far UConn has been able to keep that going. I hope that continues. I read on the ESPN page that 1100 players were in the portal.

Any school can put a great team together from the portal and destroy two to three years of planning thru HS recruiting. Hurley found a hungry Cam Spencer, and both thrived.

Agree, magic. For the past 3 years at this time, I'd say to myself "this is my last year for WCBB. It's not the game I signed up for." And then Geno becomes Geno and makes the team so very, very wonderful to invest my energy into.

All the movement outside the Top 20 transfers are just moving the same chess pieces.

Not sure why. She didn't have a good year last year.

She is from LA, UCLA is going to be in the mix for the championship and she would be reunited with Betts. Other than UConn, which should be a near lock for a national championship, on paper, this is the most logical place for her. I have been to both campuses and UCLA is far superior to USC. And while some would argue with this, UCLA is superior academically to USC. It is probably either us or UCLA, depending on how much she wants to travel during the season.

Really select schools will. But , I was just suggesting that it is possible for just about any school. Just as a for instance, say someone like Sue Bird ( just to name someone ) decided to coach next year. I could immagine Sue would be able to go to the portal and put one hell of a team together.

I'm a big fan of UCLA academics (despite having a Cal degree) and fully know about all the academic hanky-panky at USC. However: no education is worth anything if a student isn't willing to work for it. And, quite frankly, very, very few D-1 athletes have the time (or remaining mental energy) after countless hrs of training, practice, and game travel to take advantage of the programs that provide the difference between (say) UCLA and USC. She chose to leave a school with an academic reputation that is only exceeded by Harvard's (we can debate Yale & Princeton's) to go somewhere else. At this point, it ain't the difference in academics, but the best place to play on a national stage to monetize her talents.

No question that Kiki is the most dynamic player in the portal...maybe the most dynamic in the short history of the portal. If you can't access twitter, it's Kiki by 77% to 23% with over 1000 votes cast.

It came out this year that some high school recruits charge $5000 (plus expenses) to visit campuses for regular recruitment. Maybe the top portal players are doing the same? picking up some pocket change while figuring out where to commit. In any case, Lucy is on the move. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Wednesday...KA-BOOM! (Godfather II)

She would come in with the expectation of being a huge percentage of their offense and the clear #1 option. Do all the players have that on their shoulders? She would be directly compared to Clark. But, I will also say that I prefer her there than SC, ND, Texas, USC or UCLA.
