Maybe looking for a free graduate degree? A place like Wisconsin, not yet top-tier, but looking for solid play even off the bench, and with excellent graduate programs, might be the kind of place she'd aspire to.

Anyone that chooses to enter the portal should be reminded that more than half the people that enter the portal never get picked up.

Anyone that chooses to enter the portal should be reminded that more than half the people that enter the portal never get picked up. Someone like Kaya probably has to leave after her senior year anyway. Ivy schools don't like having to pay for a 5th year. It's incredibly expensive to support full scholarships.

Does the portal NEVER close? I'm weary of it.

No, it never closes
i don’t know how good this source is but I heard this from a legitimate women’s basketball source previously, this is exactly how it was broken down to me:

Anyone that chooses to enter the portal should be reminded that more than half the people that enter the portal never get picked up. I think this is a temporary situation. Lots of graduating players can enter with no penalty and choose to go or not depending on what openings arise. If none do, there is nothing lost. I suspect some that played this game did get picked up. In any case, the COVID rule made it possible to enter after 4 years without disappointing your current team and coaches. That will come to a close this year, except for a few stragglers. I will be interested to see the stats after that wave is gone.

Even if you wanted her, potentially we have no room for players. We are still in the middle of wrapping up our 2024 recruiting. You know Geno is very particular who he accepts as a transfer. FIRST...... you need to find out WHY she's transferring. That reason may not set well with Geno. I agree that there are other players Geno would like to have if he has the room. Jersey would have to want to come, Geno would have to want her, and she would have to be a GREAT fit.

A freshman leaps into the portal. Not a player I have heard of. But I do think it is that time of the year where we sometimes have some surprising names enter the portal. And I want to bump this thread and keep my eyes open for it this season.
Last season I remember Payton Verhulst to Oklahoma occurred around this time. And Saylor to Arkansas occurred after November in 2021. So will there be any noteworthy players this cycle?

Saylor Poffenbarger brother Reese (QB) transferring from Albany to Miami Hurricanes. 2 years of eligibility.
We now return you to your basketball transfer portal thread.
