...who is your starting five, given the injury report released yesterday.
Deep breathes, all.
This is just hypothetical, as young bodies heal, but if you didn't have Tuck, Butler, and DB, who steps out on the court for the first real game?

Those injuries...BLAST. Good thing we are very deep...I hope they heal up and that these aren't lingering problems for them. I'm always fretting about Tuck who has good days and bad days....

Actually, she was recently interviewed and says that whole good days bad days thing is behind her. I'm going to accept the "minor" hamstring appellation and expect her to be treated conservatively yet start the year. Boykin may be a redshirt. Something tells me her wrist did not heal properly and a new procedure may be in her future.

MoJeff Nurse KLS Gabby Stewart Perhaps David but a very ready Pheesa lurking behind 2-4 (even 5).

Yes, Geno is going to have more challenges than we thought about how to mix and match these players, and Pheese has lots of experience playing with Lou, so they must like to come up the court in tandem...fascinating...

I'm torn.
Mo Kia Stewie
Where it gets muddy for me is the idea of starting two frosh.
I really liked what I saw from NC this past summer. She has a special skill set, and while this is 'soft', a vibe about her. I feel she is already a Husky.
Everything Geno says indicates that he like what he sees from KLS and NC.
That is a big, fast lineup, made faster and more explosive by starting Gabby.
But KLS or NC, if Gabby starts.
I might lean towards Pheese starting with KLS subbing to create some nasty matchup problems.
As I write this, I can't help but think what an amazing 'problem' this is.

If the three (Tuck, Butler, DB) remain injured for opening games, I say Mo, Kia, Stewie, Pheesa, and Lou, with Gabby as the 6th man. I'm still hoping the three will be OK, and I know Geno doesn't like to start freshmen. It is crucial that DB heal properly, even if it means red-shirting. Actually for many of the conference games, our bench could probably win as many of the teams (but not all!) are weak. I used to fuss about the SOS in conference, but I got so I liked the opportunities it provides for the bench, who are after all, very talented.

Hopefully we get a report on Natalie's hand in a couple of days. I'm pessimistic about Boykin's wrist. Morgan's hammy is reportedly no big deal and I suspect she'll be ready. I like your injury induced starting 5 though. Natalie's hand reminds us that a priority for Geno should be finding a quality big - even an athletic 6' 2" power forward (who can score - i.e., no Tenn types).

Jefferson Nurse Stewart Williams Collier How do you defend such a five...or the others for that matter, when at least 4 of your 5 have the potential for 20 points or more a game.
