Is stupid, but fun: 2 of top 4 are Huskies. And HVL before Angel. Bet Angel's not happy with that!

Angel all the way down at 8. I feel a disturbance in the force coming down at LSU....!

Angel seems to low to me. One thing about Angel is that I do consider her an elite rebounder. And I think that will translate to the wnba.
Also, great respect shown to Paige in these rankings.

As a wannabe GM, here are my projections for those 4: Clark and Bueckers will be players right away. Both will start as rookies, and make multiple allstar appearances. Both will be very successful in the W. I prefer Paige, but CC is an excellent pick. Brink will steadily have a contract for a few years, but I suspect will never make an all-star roster unless she advances a ton. Angel will be a rookie-contract only and will be a comparative bust for a lottery pick. Think Charlie Collier.

I think Brink has a lot of professional support in the Bay Area and can still be coached up to improve. And Angel has a lot more energy and desire than Charlie, so I'm betting she sticks around.

Angel will be a rookie-contract only and will be a comparative bust for a lottery pick. Think Charlie Collier. Angel only played one game last season against a dominant center; like she can expect to face off against in the WNBA most games. That was against Boston and she failed that test miserably. She'll have this season to 'toughen up', but we'll see? The Mulkey-generated OOC Schedule won't help, but perhaps their games against South Carolina and Tennessee will? Reese has the physical ability to be a very good WNBA Player, but she'll need to work hard, have a good attitude and recognize that she's not the center of the WNBA universe. She has the physical tools! Rickea Jackson from Tennessee also has the physical skills, but she showed too much immaturity last season after she refused the post game hanshake line 2X. She was suspended for that and other things, but did finish the season playing well. Once again; attitude, hard work and getting along with her new teammates will be essential. Some here might recall during the UConn vs Tennessee game when Rickea tried to start a situation with Aaliyah when they were both lying on the court? The WNBA is a different animal than is DI WCBB. Only 144 players (or less, depending on a team's salary cap space?), rather than the 600+ on the top 50 teams. It's very easy for the good WNBA players to change teams for any number of reasons, and even talented 'stars' can be 'tossed out' if their attitudes aren't good. For example, Chennedy Carter; who had tremendous talent, but a terrible attitude? She was bounced from Atlanta and again bounced from Los Angeles? I wish them the best of luck going forward, but the ball is in their respective courts!

So Voepel has 2 Huskies ahead of Reese and yet he thinks LSU is the better team? I guess that after Edwards and Bueckers the talent level really plummets?

Certainly possible. They have the ability and physical characteristics to be better. But, will they still have the hunger for basketball as the deals and promos flow? I suspect not, thus my prognostication.

Dorka’s wnba success this season makes me think Brink will be great.

Dorka’s wnba success this season makes me think Brink will be great. 1. Dorka is a better defender - though Brink gets more blocked shots. 1v1 it isn't close. 2. Dorka is bigger and stronger and can bang inside when needed. Cameron is a tweener. Can't shoot enough to be a three, not big or strong enough to stop WNBA bigs inside. Her only option will be to play the four. against ... EDD, Stewie, Nneka, Asa, CP, Pheesa, Sabally, N. Howard, ............ In short, you'd better be great to keep up with that group. 3. Juhasz has better range, and less need to use it 4. DJ is a much better passer, too 5. Nearly every team needs a Center. teams were all over the place trading Amanda ZB and Queen Egbo ... looking for someone to hold that role as either a starter of a backup. Which team this season would have been better if they had CB? Seattle? probably not. Phoenix... maybe. Run through the list and there aren't very many minutes available. That's where Angel and R. Jackson will be trying to make a mark, too. CB has more quickness and a lot more hype. I will agree that Brink has a higher ceiling in WCBB, but I'm not sure she will translate without some significant growth.

In college, I definitely thought brink was the better player. And I never really saw anyone argue otherwise tbh. I think Dorka has always been the better playmaker and passer. And brink pretty much beat her at other categories.
I do think Dorka has gotten better in the pros though. And maybe brink will get better in the pros? She deserves the same opportunity. I would draft her very high.
Also, I am not sure anyone raves about Van Lith more than me around here. But no way would I draft her over Angel. She is listed at 5’7”. I doubt she is that tall. To make it in the pros, she has to be able to score and guard someone. Maddy Siegrist didn’t play much this season because I think her coach didn’t trust her on defense. Angel at least has the size, athleticism, and elite rebounding to fall back on. I am not sure about Hailey. I would like to take her late in the first round.

Geno coached up Dorka for UConn, but also for the WNBA. She has a better all-round game. Cameron is the darling of Palo Alto. There's a giant billboard of her on the 101 between SFO and Stanford. And it's all Cameron glam all the time in Stanford Instagram. She's not been trained to play a team concept game, but star. Maybe she will also star in the pros. But if she doesn't, she doesn't have the skills Dorka's developed to fall back on, to give her team that extra value.

These writers have opinions but they literally also know they benefit from stirring the pot. Sometimes being controversial is intentional. Almost no one would rate HVL over Angel Reese as a pro prospect.

OTOH, HVL may come with a lot less baggage than Angel, both personality and maintenance requirements.
