Careful what you ask for Linkster. How's you like Biker Boots and Leathers on the sidelines?

UConn and Tennessee have a lot in common from a fan/opposing fan perspective:
Expectations are always that there will be a NC waiting at the end of the season rainbow - UConn fans have been far more accurate on this point the past few years. Tennessee fans have been delusional. It is a new season...time will tell if this is more realistic for them this year. No reason to think UConn fans are not justified in their expectations.
Fans have high expectations from the new players or those returning from injury will lead them to the promised land - DeShields health is a question. Russell? Who knows. Sorry, I don't even know who their freshmen are - I should, but I haven't been paying attention. When Tuck returned, most UConn fans were in a "wait and see" frame of mind, understanding that it would take time to return to her former self. I think we were all very pleasantly surprised at how strong and assured she became by end of last season. Generally speaking, UConn fans are more realistic on this front, preferring to let things play out (while being confidently optimistic) before anointing a new/returning player as "the difference maker".
Both fans believe in a game against the other, their team will win - no recent history to call on here, obviously, but considering the struggles that Tennessee has had getting to the Final Four in recent years, and the relative ease UConn has had, the odds are more in the favor of UConn coming away with the win.
The words of the head coach are analyzed, dissected and interpreted in the most negative possible light by the opposing fans - This one I would call a draw...though Tennessee fans are a little more sensitive to comments from Geno and take great offense, even about comments about teams that don't play on a checkerboard. While UConn fans simply find humor in Holly's comments that paint a negative picture of her team and her coaching abilities, rather than being offended by her personality.
In any event, it is never dull!

If you guys keep responding to Stwainfan, eventually Nan will post that English isn't his first language. Notice how this thread about who might derail UConn has turned into drivel about Tenn. I'm just f'ing with the mods as much as I'm screwing with stwain. guess I have to go over and read this thread...

Then, he'd be a Baylor fan.

Sorry, I don't even know who their freshmen are - I should, but I haven't been paying attention. Te'a Cooper 5-7 G (#8) (McD AA) and Meme Jackson 5-11 W (#30). Cooper is probably gonna be a good one.

"The Lady Vols spent the past two days doing a series of boot camp-like exercises called "the Program." The regimen was created in 2008 by Marine Eric Kapitulik and has been marketed as a way to forge better team leadership and cohesion."
Tennessee is like a heavy person who tries every fad diet there is. First it was the Perretta Diet Plan, now it is "the Program". What a crock.
You could be right, but I've met Eric Kapitulik and think he is an impressive leader and motivator. I'm probably biased because he's also an accomplished mountain climber. Expect to see him in April and I'll try and get his reaction to the Tennessee team although I suspect he'll keep it a bit close to the vest. Barring injuries, I think Tennessee has an excellent shot at making the final for this year.

I think it was every friday during preseason conditioning (Sept 1-mid-Oct). The marine trainers came to the FF.
