I am curious what thoughts you have on how to increase traffic here in the Territory.
During the season last year after we started up, things were growing at a steady clip. Then the season ended and things got very quiet. At times, even the crickets were silent. In part, that is due to the fact that we were, and still are, fairly new to the forum scene. It takes a while for things to become habit. In another part, while not actively discouraging fans of other teams to come on board, we did not actively recruit them either. Triad and a few others are, of course, the exception. This is not necessarily a BAD thing, mind you. But we have clearly stated this is a UConn-centric board first and foremost. Fans of other teams are welcome to voice their opinions, but there is no "protected" guest class here. Negative posts about UConn and Geno or the players will be vigorously defended.
Looking at the member list there are a lot of folks who joined and have never posted, or posted a handful of times. Maybe they are simply lurkers. Maybe they are just spies for the enemy (I jest! Kind of).
So...share some ideas on what we can do to increase participation. DavidK has made an excellent suggestion to post a survey for "Player of the Game" in the post-game discussion threads. A great idea, and one that will certainly spur some lively discussion!
Other suggestions?

Play of the Game would work too maybe. I think media helps spur in season discussion. I suspect this recruiting class and Natalie will provide much fodder week to week too.

I have written several blog entries about players. And while I appreciate the likes and the few comments I get thanking me for writing it, I'm always disappointed that folks don't discuss more the content of what I have written.

Well I will try to get that discussion forward moving forward, and think I did on your entry on the walk ons. You really are one of the biggest assests this board has with your write ups provideing content.

Yes, I think to discuss Doggie's posts would be great. How about we regularly take a para and dissect it, agree, disagree play with it. I've thought a lot about how to get more traffic and conversations on our board, and I think this is might really do the trick. Also, you have to remember how much drek there is/was on TOB. I get lonely to talk about Huskies and WCBB and WNBA scores and shots, and so I look at TOB because we don't have much going on here. But in some ways, that's a kind of blessing because much of the info isn't worth the time of day and the good posters bring their best over here too.
So....let's go!

I like that this board is so focused on UConn WBB. But that means in the off season people have less to say! TOB has a lot of other stuff on it. Some interesting, some not. I was wondering about the multiple sub-forums here. The WNBA is a big topic off season and often connects with UConn players. Somehow I don't often go to that forum here, whereas I might idly click on a thread on the main board. So I would suggest bringing that to this forum. I'm not sure that putting the recruiting stuff separate really works either. I enjoy the separate game day forum and it is interesting to revisit after rewatching a game. Also like not wading through tons of discussion from fans of other teams about their teams as well as odd OT stuff on the UCWCBB forum. Much of the rest of the growth, I think, is just going to take time. Since this board is more focused on our team, I suspect it will have more difference in use in-season versus off-season.

I agree that the sub-forums have a way of making me miss things that I might get involved with. More than anything, though, I think we have to take individual responsibility to bring content to the Territory rather than TOB if we like the tone and philosophy here better than TOB. In season is easier of course in finding interesting stuff.

I do believe the OCD prone in the Territory could survive if the OT migrated. I find some of the more memorable exchanges and interesting tid bits come from OT topics, because UConn fans are some of the most intelligent and interesting people on the planet.
