I mean the gamee vs Italy. Isn't she much younger than her teammates and the competition?

I wonder who her coach will be?

I would bet Tara will stick around and coach for her first year or two. After that, who knows.

And she is only 14? Wow. Impressive! And we're counting on Nika to recruit her! It won't hurt but I suspect a lot of the groundwork has been laid through her HS coach. Bob Mackey who coached Sue Bird and Tina Charles is still at CTK after 40 years and has a very good relationship with Auriemma. He knows what GA wants in a kid and what the UConn program can do for kids who are the right fit and have the work ethic to thrive there. Vukosa is obviously the best 5-4 big in her age group in the US but still has a lot of work to do refining all her skills over the next 3 years. However, she has the one thing that Auriemma values above all in talented players and will make her a real fit for him. Compete level. She runs and plays as hard as she can every minute on the floor even when tired. That's what will get her to UConn and both Mackey and Auriemma know it. And that's what got her an offer at 14 years old.

It never flagged, whether she was doing well or not. Totally locked in.

The Canada connection did not help with Fournier.
I do want to add though. This player is different. I never never seen UConn be this aggressive with a younger player.
We offered a junior high school player recently too though. So, maybe we are seeing a change in the UConn recruitment philosophy?

I understand Vukosa has many type of UCONN memorabilia - and I don't believe Fournier had the same with UCONN.

She's a blue collar banger who will put in the work to improve. Here's some of her action in this tournament.

Here's some of her action in this tournament. 3 things really jump out: 1. She moves well to her left and can shoot with her left hand. 2. She can shoot from the side and shoot from above her head. 3. In put backs, she doesn't bounce the ball, but goes right back up. She is obviously very well-coached and has no bad or lazy habits that need addressing.

She is obviously very well-coached and has no bad or lazy habits that need addressing. She plays for Philly Rise 16U on the Nike circuit so between their streamed games and this event I've seen maybe 8-10 of her games. A few things I've noticed are: 1) She's fine on the P&R with no dribbles but she could stand to lose the extra ones on her post moves. Just gives the D time to collapse and tie her up. One power dribble, drop step and up either way is all she needs with her size. 2) Could get rid of the lateral lunge and flip shot, it just brings the ball down where smaller, help defenders can get at it. Just learn to catch, turn, and release before the D can react. 3) Defensively she commits to up fakes and goes at the ballhandler too easily giving up blow-byes when defending outside the paint. All things that continued work and a skills coach can eliminate. But she's doing fine and that motor will take her a long way.

I don’t know how interested we were. But here is another big we won’t be getting:
North Carolina is really kicking ass on recruiting. And I am surprised Texas is not listed here.

Sigh. Liked Tac.
But me want "blue collar banger."

I never really saw massive UConn connections with Adhel Tac. This was more like a fan recommendation. I saw fans like myself on Twitter, boneyard, and maybe even here mention her as a possibility.

I think there is a strong possibility the 2024 class will only be 2.
I think there are offers out to Strong and Carlton and UConn are waiting to see what they do. We may or may not have offered Roberson and that’s about it. Any other player would be a surprise the same way that Samuel was.

Hopefully the third is Strong who is now rated #1.

We would have the #1 class if we landed strong.

Stolen from TOB f you follow Morgan Valley on Instagram , you know that she only post on her story about kids that have UConn ties, Currently playing, alumni, or recruits who had committed. I have never seen her share anything on her story about a recruit who hasn’t chosen UConn. For example she shared photos from Allie Ziebell winning Gold this summer. Yesterday She shared a photo about Sarah strong winning the 3x3 gold. It may be reaching but just using context clues. Sarah strong recently started following Aubrey Griffin, she also follows Morgan Chelli, Allie Ziebell, Ice Brady, KK, Aliyah Edwards, and her most recent follow is Morgan Valley.
