Someone tweeted about scooters be in stolen at UConn then Collier added this tweet:
That's her player number, is this her scooter and someone stole it? Yikes.

I just saw that post. These things happen even in the "wilderness" that is Storrs.

Terrible way to welcome the freshman to campus, but hopefully it will be found and a learning experience for her four years in Storrs

Just how large is UCONN's campus? Big enough that you need a scooter?

The heavy chains. The taking the front wheel with you. I'd rather walk. I would think campuses would be the perfect places for a coop bike program - semester fee, ride it and drop it kind of deal.

Problem is that people come in from the outside to scoop up bikes and scooters. There were thieves on campus for a while that would actually steal the whole bike rack with the bikes! I always wondered if the had heavy machinery or just a lot of people! Bikes can be handy if the class is diagonally across campus - certainly a lot faster. I walked. Sometimes caught the bus in winter.

My last semester, I had one class somewhere up near the child lab and then 10 minutes later, one down at CLAS. I think. Yeesh, it was 10 years ago. Or maybe because of that hike, I scheduled a break and made my way over to UTEB. *cry* Been way too long since I've been on campus. I can't wait to "come home" this weekend!
