Eh, whatever. You are confusing me for Aubreyfan if you are chasing me into every thread with that icon joke. You were quick to point out that i don't follow instructions in the "Which NEW player are you most looking forward to see play?" thread. But I actually can't remember the last time you posted in a thread without trolling. Do you have any thoughts about this 3x3 tournament? Or you don't care because no UConn players are participating? That's me.

21-8. USA beats previously undefeated Czech Republic.
Brink did finish through contact this game. This was a big improvement. And Brink had a great overall game. 10 pts, 9 rebounds. So she outscored the Czech Republic on her own. Why didn't the czech republic score more? I think Brink was really disruptive on defense. She had a great overall game.
Van Lith hit a couple of shots behind the arc. Those were big because team USA has really struggled out there all tournament.
I thought Burdick was better this game too. Was definitely a factor when it came to her rebounding.
Harper was the best player for team USA during the first session. She struggled today though. Fortunately her teammates picked her up.
I was not that impressed with the Czech Republic. I thought they really crumbled during this game. Some of that is the US played good defense.

Jen must be coaching her A off with this lot.

Jen must be coaching her A off with this lot. Or this bunch started with an attitude that we are Team USA so just hand us the trophy. Or a little of both.

Jen must be coaching her A off with this lot. I bet that the US is playing against teams that constantly play together. Our team has like five practices together and is trying to knock off some of the best teams in the world in this format.

I just watched USA beat Japan in a game that was closer than the final score would suggest. USA look like a team that hadn't played much together. Brink doesn't have the speed to keep up with Japan's fast guards, but she did manage to pull out a come from behind block when beat. The announces were gushing over Van Lith, but it was Harper who bailed out the team. It was either tied or close to a tie when they subbed Harper in think she got five straight points [edit, after reading the game summary, it was 7 consecutive] to put the game out of reach. Box score

Germany beat the Czech Republic. Germany was dominant early on. I think the score was 14 – 7 Germany at one time, but it seemed that Germany could do whatever they wanted. The Czechs hung in, enclose the margin despite missing every one of their two-point shots for most of the game. They finally headed to with thirty seconds left and cut the lead to two, but inexplicably decided to go for one point shots and lost.

22-17. USA defeats Japan.
Hailey really carried the offense early. She had defenders spun around and off balance. And she has done a great job getting to the key and hitting midrange jumpers. The box score had her as 7/15 from the field. Not bad, a lot of times the shot clock is running down and someone needs to put a shot up. Hailey is the one willing to do that for this team.
Brink was a bit disappointing again imo. She had a huge size advantage against this Japanese team, but really wasn't able to take advantage of it offensively. Defensively, she has big moments every game. She has to be leading this tournament in blocks.
Burdick, I really did not notice again. I suspect she is doing some little things like playing good defense and setting screens. But a quiet performance.
Harper took over the scoring late when Van Lith went cold.
Japan's point guard Emura was prrobably the best player in this game. She scored 12 points. But she did not get enough help.
The US advances to the QF and will play the host country Austria. Should be interesting to see what kind of atmosphere that game features.

17-14 China. I watched the last couple of minutes. Germany looked a little discombobulated. Actually the offense in this game made me wonder if USA could possibly go all the way.
I am getting a bit ahead of myself. Let’s see how the match with Austria goes. (But our offense has been solid recently.)

USA wins and advances to the semis. I think to play China.
Brink went down holding her knee. But returned to the game. And even at the end seemed in pain.
Hailey was terrific in this one and really had the outside shot falling. Harper was also good.
Brink was frustrating, but defensively and on the boards was very good.
I think Austria was pretty outmatched but good perimeter shooting kept them in the game and gave them a chance.

This was a better game for van Lith than the earlier game. Brink with double-digit rebounds, I suspect that's relatively rare in 3x3
