Okay, so here we go. They are pairing her with Toomey.
North Carolina is starting to really recruit well.

Okay, so here we go. They are pairing her with Toomey. North Carolina is starting to really recruit well. They'll be a worthy duo, for sure. Once Banghart arrived, this was pretty inevitable. She was a tremendous coach at Princeton, and this is a terrific fit for her. Hoping Kara can do the same at Duke, because that rivalry in WCBB, to match that in MCBB, would be great for the game.

Interesting to see that Tennessee thought they might get her.

Interesting to see that Tennessee thought they might get her. I can't believe she gave serious thought to Tenn. She's staying home and going to a better university in a better town, getting a great pairing (as you say) with Toomey, and a far better coach. Other than that....

From the Orange idiots -
“ Just my opinion, but if she does, it’s a signal she doesn’t want to compete for a championship. Better off without her.”
“ Or,she doesn't want to play behind Key for two years..”
“ I'm interested to see if Banghart uses Thomas besides anything other than a screen setter like she does her other centers.”
“ I don’t think we missed out on much, still better prospects in my opinion.”

I know she's staying home, but it seems Dawn has achieved the status of getting who she wants.

Going to NORTH carolina, I wish we coulda got a player like this. Are you suggesting that we haven't gotten players like Thomas? Besides I heard a rumor that she is only 6'4 1/2. Any look at the recruiting of the past 4 years will confirm that UConn has far exceeded what some would call a fair share of elite recruits. I've posted the fable of the fisherman and his wife on a few boards in the past.

I just wish we had a center, a true, back to the basket center. I'm not trying to unleash people here with a torrent of how great what we already have is. I know that and believe it. I just wish, is all. And I hope we get one of these in the next few years. Another Dolson type...I love it when that aspect of the game is at full potential. Please don't go at me now. We are in the mix for some of these, which warms me heart.

Try making a list of the "true back to the basket" players that UConn has missed on? Boston? No, not her. She spent most of last year at the high post, (like Dolson in her senior year). The last low post center of the caliber & size you want was Kalani Brown 6'6. There really haven't been many. In fact far more incoming posts think of themselves more as perimeter players than as centers, Aja Wilson being the last I can think of. I think El Alfy sees herself outside. Deberry certainly does. Even on the mens side no one wants to be labelled as a low post center. The true center in basketball has gone away much like the fullback/halfback positions in the NFL which are now just called running backs. The Mel Triplets of the NFL are an extinct species.

Going to NORTH carolina, I wish we coulda got a player like this. Not trying to go all-Tenn on this, but I don't think she's that great. Watch this tape of her with Sarah Strong. Strong has great basketball instincts. Thomas is just big. Not untalented, but not real quick or imaginative either. Strong, however, is like Ice that way. She's a natural.

I think the game has changed. But I am with Semper. Even though they are more rare now. I also want a back to the basket post. It would just give us another option on the offensive end.
Jokic is a great perimeter player. But I loved watching him back down AD and Ayton when his team really needed a basket in those series’.

Adding that Aja Wilson does her best work at the four, not the Center spot.
