Please limit discussion to Ice, Jana, KK, Ashlynn and Qadence ONLY. Paige, Aubrey, Nika et al are NOT eligible for this discussion.
For me, I am looking forward to seeing Ice play. Geno had such high praise for her in early practice before her injury sidelined her for the year. I can't wait to see what she can do on the court and under the basket, banging with the bigs on the other teams.
Second would be Jana. There is not a lot of video of Jana playing, so to me she is the biggest "mystery" on the team.
Of course I am interested to see the new guards, but right now our biggest area for improvement with the graduation of Dorka is in the front court, so that is where I am most interested.

Jana. I have seen less of her than any of the others.

yes! I think we need Ice and Jana to contribute this year. Not so much Ashlynn and Q. But I think KK gets competitive minutes: will be our point next year (2024/5).

Shade won’t play that much imo. But she better get good quick. Ziebell and Cheli are coming. And that’s how it should be. Competition will result in a better team.

Jana . Her along with Ice must be able to contribute immediately for this team to get to NC.

I think there should be some flexibility to bounce and go where the conversation takes us in these topics. That casual atmosphere is why this place is better than another site.

Probably Ice, since she didn't get to play last year. After her, maybe Arnold.

They all have the potential to contribute if the reviews are accurate. In fact the only thing different from the vets is that they have no baseline. They start at zero to me. You get hints until the season starts and you see who plays. What can each of them contribute? How quickly can they learn UConn's offense and defense. Switching MtM and motion offense are often brand new to freshmen. Few HS teams are talented enough and AAU spells defense s-h-o-o-t-m-o-r-e. Brady & El Alfy - The big question is can they be physically dominant against elite D1 competition. I can't remember if any freshman post for UConn ever had a great freshman year. Stewart's ended well but she struggled to a degree. Dolson couldn't stay on the court for fouling. My vision of Charles' 1st year is Geno yelling at her.
Arnold Samuels Shade - There are four veteran guards ahead of them. Three are pg's and the 4th has pg skills. Can Arnold outshine them in some way? Can Shade and Samuels make 3's in D1? Can any of the three play defense?
Brady. I have expectations that she will see herself in the rotation. She has an open door to the post position unless Deberry metamorphizes. Geno was praising Brady last October and praise from Geno in Oct is different from June praise.

And he never has an opinion he doesn’t wants to share.

Glad to know what "I" thinks, rukia. But really, when a lot of folks begin to think that there are too many "I's", maybe you will consider what the rest of "us" want. Less of the "I" and more of the "we". Chappy is creating the thread and it'll be by her rules, or we'll delete posts. If we're better than TOB, it's because we also self-govern, without the need to have a Nan. So, let's keep it that way!

Okay, seems like this admin. couldn't follow directions either. . Chappy is asking for the ONE we most want to see. That's tough for me, because, as above, both Ice and Jana NEED to play, as I wrote above. But I sort of have a better handle on Ice, so I guess the one I want to see how she plays, to better assess her, is Jana.

Ice.
She's a year older than the freshmen, and from the accolades she came in under when a H/S senior which I believe is superior to any of the current frosh, and what the poster "justinesguy" posted from his conversation with Meg Culmo - I think Ice is a very exciting prospect.

I'm a huge fan of Ashlynn Shade as I just like the kid a lot but out of curiosity I'd like to see Qadence the most. She has size, length, quickness and reports are she can shoot. What's not to like? I'm not convinced that player ratings are the end all , be all as look at MLB draft prospects. Often that kid drafted in the 5th round turns out to be one of the very best. What about that Mets catcher who was drafted absolutely last just as a favor to someone and he turned out to be Mike Piazza. It can happen.

Wondering whether Geno and Tommy, though of different generations, knew each other. Both from the great, great, great town of Norristown, PA!
