Wed 5-17 9pm For all the adamant disagreement Fudd 15 Edwards 15 Bueckers 15 . Muhl 7 Ducharme 7 Brady 7 Griffin 6 . the rest The contention is actually a good thing to read about, since it means there are 2 openings as a starter and four legitimate candidates. A 2023 Lieberman finalist is not a lock to start? Who are those guys? Assuming Ice works out, I think Jana and Ayanna will battle for the 8th spot. Need another biggish to rotate against the teams with bigs. That 8 should get the time the minutes as the season gets serious. C'mon Amari! Shock the world in 2023/24. How great would that be? I'm not giving up the dream.

So she's moving up the bench.

I'm surprised Ayanna didn't get any votes. Some of us are voting for players who have never played a minute of college ball over her ( myself included ). She could still emerge.

I think it's a combination of things about starting: the idea that Ice is rumored to be great, that Jana is taller, that Aubrey could play the 4 if necessary. The other thing is that in spring training every MLB team looks like it'll go undefeated. We always prefer the unknown potential to the proven reality.

I was watching some film from Caroline's freshman year yesterday, and, wow. I have to say that, were she entirely healthy and back in form, I'd want her on the court as much as possible. Alas, I didn't vote for her, because it's a complete unknown. OTOH, I voted for Ice even though she has no college record at all. I'm just weird that way.... Self awareness is half the battle I'm told.

Looks like Caroline and Ice are potential starters according to today's projections, along with Nika, and I for one only wanted Caroline coming off the bench as she is so valuable as an offensive spark. I didn't vote for Caroline as a starter but also consider her in our top 5 players. The concept of Paige as our point guard appears to have a lot of support in the forum.

I don't vote for Caroline as a starter because I believe she will get hit in the head again. And then Geno would need to make adjustments to the starting lineup.
So, let's just skip that step and have her as a nice option off the bench when she is available.

I don't know about "definite," but I agree that a healthy and effective Caroline makes for an even more absolutely mind-blowing backcourt. Because of all her troubles this past year, sometimes it's hard to remember just how brilliant she was as a freshman. Here's a reminder This is great!

The only thing keeping her out of the starting five is her health. In her freshman year she took over being the primary scorer as the injuries mounted and played with confidence and aggression. That told me everything I needed to know. UConn has several players ready to make big jumps.
