In the regular season. Where has the time gone?
This last stretch is going to be grueling. Hope we can get one or both of Caroline and Azzi back before the BE Tournament. The starters needs some relief that can maintain the scoring and defense. Much as I love Ayanna, Amari and Ines, they have so far only been good for a few minutes off the bench. The starters need more than just a few minutes.

To me multiple players have logged a lot of minutes. I am not even sure the return of one (Azzi or Caroline) is enough. Probably need both for a deep run.

We need that nice 10-14 day layoff between BET and NCAA's.

Ayanna , Amari, or Ines are not going to help us in the tournament. They are all still searching themselves for ways to fit in. I have long term doubts about all three. I see no signs of Caroline or Azzi being able to help at all this season. I'll be surprised to see either one at the scorer's table. I'm fine with it. It is what it is.

I'm completely confident we'll see a much different Ayanna next year. She came in pre-season freshman of the year in the Big East, and that's a lot to bear. She nearly jumped through the roof the first couple of games. She's still figuring it out. But she has prodigious athletic skills--not unlike Aubrey and her trajectory. With Caroline and Azzi, I, too, am stoic, and perhaps even a part of me hopes neither returns this year.

Bulkey, I was about to say that you probably would have said the same thing about Amari last season. Except I think maybe you didn’t? You were not driving the Amari bandwagon last season. In fact, you were maybe higher on Gabriel. So, my bad for thinking something that is not true. Haha.
We well see on Ayanna. She is a million miles away right now. But she has athleticism you can’t teach.

Are you the Bizarro world TonyC? That's a pretty dark description of the remaining season. Let's narrow the components - 1. You don't expect Azzi or Caroline to come back at all - Fair, but contrasting what we're hearing from the coaches. 2. You say in "the tournament", but those players can certainly participate in the early first three rounds where opponents are mostly weaker than our Big East brethren. So, you are simply saying that the team as currently constituted is unlikely to win the National Championship. We'll have some evidence about that after Sunday at about 2:00pm. I say that there are at most a dozen teams that would be dangerous to UCONN and perhaps only two that should be outright favored. So restating, you're saying that our starting five is it - that's all we're going to battle with. That's pessimistic, but fair. Those kids would be even more worn down in the leadup to the tourney. But if this team of five can get us to the FF, that may be all we can hope for with an AA first team parked on the bench and contributing only high fives. But we all know that once you get that late in the event ... anything can happen. We were big underdogs last season and had a shot. May have even gone differently, without the injuries and illnesses that were in place at that NC game. So maybe you think they cannot get to the FF ... but they will get some rest late. They'll get a burst of enthusiasm with the excitement of the tourney atmosphere. They have the talent. UCONN may get a tough seeding path or an impossible one. Only time will tell. My summary is that I think this five is up there with any of the top starting teams. If we get back some of those strong players and have enough time to get them integrated fully... then all bets are off. In fact with both Azzi and Caroline this is absolutely one of the top four teams in the country. I am not willing to give up hope just yet.
