Is this game at home? Or at Hartford? It's a white out at the XL.

Not to overlook the Friars, but.... It's a trap game vs a team that was a pain to beat earlier.

Really, with no rest and basically 5 players. I'll be praying and cheering but I won't be watching. Two-year trajectory! Good practice for our guys! With Caroline and Azzi it would have been a different story and next year we'll win, unless some other terrible things happens. And who knows... Doggy knows, right?

You will find out soon enough!!

Alas, I'd have to make the spread higher than that. I will be there cheering my behind off, but without Azzi and Caroline, it's a big ask. This is not to say we have no shot at celebrating Sunday afternoon. Of course we do. SCar is far from invincible and even with our steady five, UCONN is a threat to beat anyone. Here's a question: which is better? Beat them and let them spend the rest of the season with a clear focus and a hunger for revenge or lose now and let them be certain all of the media accolades must be true, then kicking their overconfident butts at tourney time! Naturally, we prefer to win them both, preferably by at least 40 points.

I'll actually be watching this one with the sound on, swatch, hoping to hear you cheer your behind off! :-) Probably the best case scenario in a real world is what you imply. A close game, showing we can stick with them, and then get Caroline and Azzi back and run the table through April 2. However, I have to give Dawn some credit. I don't think a UConn loss Sunday will lull South Carolina into a false sense of confidence in April. And I don't think Dawn needs to appeal to locker room material to fire up her team later if they lose Sunday. If UConn and South Carolina find themselves playing each other in the Final Four, sure, there may be some added psychological incentives before the game starts. But once the tip off, it's all on instinct and muscle memory.

All I'm going to say is when karma flips it flips fast and it flips hard. This reminds me of Baylor and Griner. It doesn't matter if we beat them at the XL or not, I do not want to wake them up, I want SC fat and happy when we get to March. All the pressure will be on them, and we should have a semblance of our whole team ready to go. Who knows, like that Baylor team, maybe someone else catches them looking ahead and knocks them out, just like the Cards did to Baylor.
