UConn by 12+. UConn by 8+. Giving yourself two chances to nail it? Doo we know more about Horsten's availability and even if available, is she 80% 100%?

She's asked and she ducks the question. I don't think it's how available, but whether available. She was sick rather than injured.

Nice analysis DD. Games like this could go in any direction but Tenn hasn't faced any team playing as well as UConn right now. UConn has been stripped of most of their outside shooting while Tenn without Key isn't the dominant force inside. Stanford beat them at home by dominating the 4th period and out-rebounding Tenn.
I don't think Tenn can keep up with UConn's scoring pace.
I think Patterson will play a great inside game.
I think the crowd will not be a factor except to make winning more fun for the Huskies.
This has been a troubled Vol team that has under-performed to their expectations. This is UConn's chance to make a statement to CC and the AP writers. Personally, I don't see this as a "statement" game for UConn but if they win big the AP will be forced to either upgrade UConn or else admit that the SEC is a second class conference this year. Faced with that choice they will upgrade UConn.

Sorry for being picky but I was just playing a game with my grandson. At the end of the game we both guess how many points he just scored and he was starting to develop a habit. He guessed 14, I guessed 18, and then he said well maybe 15 or 16, thereby increases the chances he'd get it right. I'm trying to teach them he can have a guess not multiple guesses

In DoggyDaddy’s excellent game prediction he included his view of the intangibles:
I’m not about to disagree, but I’d like to share some relevant information leads me to think that while it’s an advantage for Tennessee it’s at best a small advantage. We all know that a large crowd can be intimidating, especially if you aren’t used to it. Bettencourt was thrown into the deep end in the Princeton game, with the double whammy of going in when the game is on the line and playing before 8700 fans. She was asked about the crowd after the game and commented that she’d never before played before more than 200 people. That’s a big difference and we are all happy she did so well. I also remember attending the UConn game at Duke years ago (Diana’s famous “call me” game). The place was rocking. The irony is that UConn was used to playing before a packed house and Duke was not, so it was my impression that they were more rattled by the atmosphere than the Huskies.
Let’s start with some numbers then an important caveat. If you look at games with more than 7000 fans in the stand, UConn and Tennessee are pretty much even. Connecticut has played with 7000 or more fans 14 times, while Tennessee is close behind with 13 times. Move the threshold up just a little bit to 8000, and it’s a little different story. UConn has played before 8000 or more fans on 12 different occasions, while Tennessee has done so only four times. Frankly, that surprised me. Move the threshold up to 10,000, the number DD thinks will be there on Thursday, and UConn has played before 10,000 or more on three occasions, while this will be the first time this year Tennessee has played in front of that many. I’m not about to suggest that the difference between 7000 and 10,000 is so dramatically different that Tennessee will pull a Duke and be rattled by so many fans, but I can also be fairly certain that the UConn players aren’t going to be in new territory with that many fans. The main caveat is that is probably a difference between 10,000 fans cheering for you and 10,000 fans cheering for the other team. I don’t think there’s any question which is preferred, but good players learn how to hear a crowd cheering for the other team and transmogrify it in their head, at least partially, so while I think it is an advantage for Tennessee, it may be a modest advantage.
