Great again (Not exactly a news bulletin by now is it?). A great report deserves a great team, think we just might have one.

Doggy
It's really great to have your reports again...We're at sea in the new MSC monster and internet is spotty...but seeing your column reminds one that home is not too far away.
I absolutely concur that neither SC nor Stanford looked like world beaters Indeed (to the usual ridicule), I suggested that a UConn team with Caroline and Dorka healthy and producing may actually be the best squad in the country, even if the pollsters could not possibly so acquiesce.
It looks like a fascinating season is on tap
Happy holidays Michael

Adding my appreciation for the return of the DogBlog. Thanks guys. As to the quality and positions the top teams should end holding, it is clear that a lot of shaking out is still to come. SCar and Stanford are likely FF participants. Sure seems that UCONN is earning a slot as well. Hard to slot others, because most teams we expect to be good have either player nobody, or have already suffered a loss. Really want to see UCONN handle a "lid on the bucket" stretch. Really want to see Caroline be more than a cameo, and find her shot. Hopefully, Dorka will return and remain healthy.... but this team is absolutely capable of winning #12 this season. Can you imagine how great they'd have been with Supergirl healthy?

Can you imagine how great they'd have been with Supergirl healthy? I was saying last July that this might be the most talented ROSTER ever for UConn. Even with the 2 missing pieces they are still deep, not necessarily in numbers but in talent. When D&D get back to full strength UConn will have nine players able to make significant contributions. Start Juhasz, Edwards, Senechal, Fudd & Muhl. Griffin and Ducharme could both start and both offer size (6'1, 6'2), scoring and particularly in the case of Griffin, defensive intensity. Seven outstanding players and six of them have had 20 point+ games. Three 2/3's who could put up 30 any game. Add in that one of them is the best player in the country. I intend to sit back and be entertained. This is going to be great.
