UConn's star guard Paige Bueckers will miss this season with a knee injury, but Azzi Fudd will still be around. Lou Lopez Sénéchal, a forward who scored 17 points against Texas while leading Fairfield in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, is now playing for UConn.

Texas was much bigger than Fairfield, but Fairfield never quit and came back during the second half. Lou took a hard elbow and was out g getting medical attention during the first half. She's tough and returned after getting patched up as you can see her face in the presser. Here's the postgame press conference of that Texas vs Fairfield game last season. 17:00 is about when the presser starts and Coach Vic gives high praise to Fairfield. 44:00 iis about when Fairfield coach begins comments and 47:00 when Fairfield players speak.

Very weak schedule. They need some good opponents at the battle for Atlantis.

Interesting that Lou was called a forward. In fact, she had 5 ribbies in her 30 minutes on the court. This may create greater flexibility for UConn, if Ines can prove she deserves competitive minutes. Lou can share time with Caroline as well then. There is so much interchangeability on this team, especially if the freshmen show up. www.google.com/search?q=texas+fairfield+women%27s+basketball&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS915US918&oq=texas-fairfield+basketball&aqs=chrome.3.69i57j0i22i30l4j0i10i22i30j0i390.12819j1j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#sie=m;/g/11q3ngmg94;3;/g/11dxbvlspv;dt;fp;1;;;

She stood by Baylor and she'll stand by LSU.

Lou had real pain in her eyes during the press conference. Every time I see her I'm impressed. I hope she more than impresses this year. That will be wonderful.

I have friends I would never loan money to but whose company I enjoy immensely. Mulkey is on my short list of wcbb coaches I'd enjoy getting intoxicated with.

This thread has certainly "drifted" - so let me drift it just slightly regarding Texas.
So I do a spreadsheet of WBB coaches in the Power 5, Big East and my team's opponents, and one of the things I noticed was several schools with less assistants than you expect. Texas in fact had one associate Head Coach and no assistants.
Just saw on TOB - I probably wouldn't have known otherwise - that he just hired Linsey Wisdom-Hylton away from Boston College (leaving them with 2 assistants for now) after 5 months without an assistant. Someone commented that his daughter and one of the other staff folks have been unofficially filling in, wonder what he will do to fill the final spot.

Just interest. For each of the 80 or so schools I list the head coach's alma mater, date of hire, past head coaching experience (or, what they were when hired) and won-lost record; I add the associate and assistant coaches. Update it in August. Use it as a reference during the season if something comes up. I also (as many know) make lists of the opponents on the same teams' schedules and highlight with colors whether they win or lose. A quick reference when folks bring up teams / schedules / good wins, etc. Update it nightly during the season. I used to track a bunch of the top ref's as to what conference they worked each day, but I haven't done that in years. It takes too much time. During the time UConn was in the AAC I also tracked them, but not any more. I always did the Big East as well as the Power 5.
