It's an old picture. They are wearing winter jackets. And ONO is in the picture.

Enough of these false alarms. There's already too much real stuff to stress over. (Yeah, you got me)

Every time I see Amari I think: I hope, I hope, I hope. She has been hanging with Paige and maybe it will take root.

Of all the Huskies I see Dorka as perhaps reveling her UConn experience the most. She has proven to be a wonderful addition.

Dorka was largely ignored by the media last season. 1st team all B1G as a sophomore and a junior. At UConn though she came off the bench so she could not be any good, right? And getting injured in the E8 meant she got no attention in the FF. Well watch how the talking heads on ESPN "discover" her this year. UConn lost ONO's experience but Juhasz(5th yr) and Edwards (3rd year) will more that make up the difference. Just remember me when you hear "Juhasz has really elevated her game this year" during a game. Remember the angst on TOB when Cardoso went to SCar? The wailing and gnashing of teeth was deafening. I predicted that Juhasz would contribute more and that's what happened. And it will be the same this season. Last year this team was challenged to overcome adversities all season and they did, getting to the last possible game. Geno should have won COY. I think that at some point this pre-season they have to look around at what they have instead of what they haven't got. That's happened to me. When I 1st heard about the ACL I went through several emotions. The shock has gone away. ACL's happen. Now I have looked at UConn's roster and this is the best team on paper since 2016, even minus Bueckers. Not maybe starters but the depth of this team and the versatility of so many players is impressive. I remember when Bent and Irwin were the 7th and 8th players. The last 2 freshman classes have had multiple players who contributed as parts of the regular rotation and as starters. The current freshmen seem to be of the same elite class of athlete. And 2023 is looking like another bonanza year. I re-read this and I sound like TonyC. But I truly think this could be the start of a great run. Even with "the jester on the sidelines in a cast".

Okay, consider yourselves lucky. I just typed out the entire opening to American Pie and then POOF! It was gone. Maybe I shouldn't have had whiskey and rye for breakfast!

Creepy...Listening to Pandora this morning while working. What song just came on? It is like someone is spying on me...two entirely different devices. I am doomed to have American Pie in my head all bloody day.

I saw "A Little Night Music" Sunday night, and since then "Send in the Clowns" has been making merry in whatever brain I still have left.

Yes, yes and yes. First of all, as you implied much more eloquently and sanely; the ESPN blabbering broadcasters need to get off of their 100% BOSTON baked beans greatness diet and respect Polish power!! Secondly; how the hell could the powers that be not notice the incredible job done by Geno, the other UConn WCBB Coaches and their support staff? Beyond obtuse, bordering on just plain oblivious these voters were? After all of their many injuries and the early season Covid shut down, they still went all the way to the Finals Game. No DI WCBB Coach did more than Geno last season, but you didn't hear him whining about it to the press? If it had been any other coach than Geno and UConn, she/he would have been Coach of the Year; but Geno ain't COY in their eyes? Don't be coy...... Cardoso began playing basketball very late - high school - in her life and she was initially college - coached by the SyrEXCUSE school of 3 pointers clowns? We'll see if she improves this season at South Carolina.

Not sure the final story on Cardoso has been written.
I can't imagine that she was happy with her role last year, though she did go from Syracuse to national champion, which is a pretty good switch.
But she's an excellent defender: just not clear how much important playing time she'll get with Boston on the court. Dawn learned that lesson years ago with similar personnel.
But she's probably improving practicing against Boston and will take over the 5 in 2023.
One unmeasurable is how the security of having her on the bench has allowed Boston to play full out, without fear of exhaustion or fouls. We might well see the same at Stanford with Betts incoming, since Brink is very foul-prone.

Yeah, they got it going with the 5. Me not like. I hear Geno is flying out to N Cal to watch the Sequoia sisters. Once they pick their spot it's impossible to move them. They soar and have deep roots in their community.

The big "get" may be the Egyptian big forward Jana Elalfy.....She has terrific court and ball movement for a young big.
