LET'S GO UCONN ! This should be a battle of very good defensive teams. Uconn should have a slight advantage on the glass, and the FT line, but N.M. St. can be dangerous from 3. If AKOK AKOK and Jordan Hawkins ( concussion protocol ) can contribute, they will be a tough out.

This is the men's team. Since it is tournament time, we will allow it to stay here. But please keep the men's games to a single thread per game.

We focus on the women's team and normally the men's team threads go to Off Topic.

I think if we are to have men's stuff here, that it should be labeled as such or even better, how about their own place to post. I think this is for the UCONN WBB team, right?

Uconn in huge trouble. Trailing by 10 at the half. Totally listless performance.

Cautionary tale for the women hopefully. Don’t take anyone lightly. Wow. The men are brutal. Hurley said on WFAN he needed another scorer( guard). He was right.

Well, a 15 seed beat a 2 seed. #2 Kentucky is also out of the tournament, thanks to a stunning loss to #15 Saint Peter's.

Listless first half. Then , Thomas was just unstoppable which is always my fear in this tournament. Every body can play " D " at this stage , and one super hot shooter will tear a game apart. Jackson is athletic but just doesn't give them any offense, and the concussion protocol with Hawkins has really killed Uconn. Thomas was just unconscious .

These blue bloods just are not as dominant as they used to be for a million reasons. I would not be surprised if Duke loses today or goes on to win it all. All these teams play at the same speed now, they all can shoot and they have played together for years. Makes a fun first round.

My Loyola Ramblers play today at 12:15. They have been spoilers for the last two Tournaments, so I have my fingers crossed for them!

I am going to move this thread now to "Off Topic". No reason to stop discussing the men's tournament, just moving it off the main board which is focused on the women.

I don't actively follow the men. Haven't for over a decade. But this result doesn't surprise me. Whether its coaching or a sign of the times this team has been erratic and in search of a champion all year.

Sanago; or however the hell you spell his name, missed more layups and dunks than I could count??? The UConn Men's offense was not at all consistent? It was close at least.

I don't know why Hurley doesn't play his freshmen. THere are three on the bench, gawd knows at least one of them should be able to shoot the damm rock or why are we paying their tuition?? Hawkins is at least a year away from being "the man" and he'll still need a great team to win anything. I don't see that any of the players on the floor have improved/grown any great amount since they arrived here. Sanogo is off-an-on, AJ needs to become a player instead of an athlete looking for highlight reels, and although I love how hard Whaley and Martin play, they're complimentary players only. Why isn't Akok playing more? Polley is a liability on defense, and Cole can't do it alone.
I'm quite frustrated with this group. And I blame Hurley for this loss.
