No offense, Bulkey. But I am moving it to Off Topic. It is kind of on the line so I am opting for pre-emptive movement.

This isn't intended to be political but she was arrested breaking the laws of another country. She was smuggling an illegal substance. I don't know Griner so I have nothing to base an opinion on what kind of person she is except what I see on the basketball court and of course the domestic violence thing. Not so wonderful.
She deserves a trial with adequate representation.

An update - Griner had a court appearance and plead not guilty. The prosecution asked for additional time to "continue the investigation" which was granted. It looks like she's in jail at least another 2 months.

Not thrilled about the domestic violence thing, but it's over and dealt with. (Kobe got away with rape, remember? Why does the male athlete get off but the female is forever stained?)
In Russia, a trial would be a kangaroo court. Bring her home, along with the others being held.

Why would Russian airport security single out Griner to plant drugs on her? Dozens of foreign basketball players were traveling in and out of Russia around the same time, just as they have for years.
Do a little digging on the other two American's being held and you might conclude that in jail is where they belong. Russian sentences might be stiff, but it's their country.
