Why didn't Dorka get more playing time? What did Geno see? There was one 2 minute stretch on defense where Dorka got beat 2X for layups? She was worrying too much about other players and her own snuck behind her twice......  ..... she'll get better! During their film session tomorrow, Geno will roast her!!  |

Arkansas had 13 offensive rebounds in the 1st half and 2 in the second half.
Arkansas was 20-43 on layups and that doesn't count shots they missed and drew fouls. That kind of hints to me that they are hunting free throws against UConn and that a$$hole ref who called 2 non-fouls on Edwards and called a half dozen tickytack fouls on UConn's posts in the 1st half assisted them.
I'm going to chalk this game up to two things, a unique opponent and 1st game jitters. Thankful that Arkansas shot like crap.
We got Bueckers. Nobody else does.

Geno said the integration of the offense would be raggedy today. It was, but they still put up 95.
Azzi looked like a frosh who will be great at some point, but had a disastrous day on defense. She was trying too hard on offense, too. She'll get it
Fouling is bad, but every out of control drive was a whistle at one end, while all kinds of contact was ignored at the other. Most of those calls at either end would be fine. Some games will be whistled to death and some refs will let them play through a fair amount of contact. Our team should be able to handle either, but it is tough when you get mugged and then called for a touch foul 15 secs later.

The two players who had surprisingly few minutes were Dorka at 12 minutes and Caroline at 4 minutes. On the other side, Paige had 40, Evina 38, and Christyn 36.
Azzi was actually pretty productive. Besides 7 pts, she had 3 ribbies, an assist and a steal. I suspect Geno thought she was more "in the game" than Caroline. Still have a hard time understanding Dorka's short minutes.

Good things (points rebounds steals blocks assists) minus bad things (fouls turnovers missed shots): Paige 41, Evina 24, Olivia 14, Christyn 11, Aaliyah 8, Azzi 7, Dorka 1, Caroline -2, Nika -4. Paige is from another galaxy, Evina overlooked in those preseason lists
