A malfunction of one of the hoops? How complicated can it be go lower a hoop, move it to the side, and then raise it back up again?
Hope this isn't an omen of how the season will go.

This was definitely an omen for the opponents of the UConn WCBB Team for the next few seasons at least! We have excellent depth this season and more outstanding players coming in next season as well!
