According to Mitchell "I've lost four women's state championship titles, two all-New England awards, and countless other opportunities and spots on the podium to biologically male runners,"
I don't understand how anyone that supports women's athletic competition could also think that women should be forced to compete against males.

See, I agree that the proper term is transgender and not male. Not that I understand all this choosing of pronouns and such, but I respect it. That said, I agree that the competition was unfair and should not have been permitted. I also disagree with an editing without permission of the writer. I keep trying to figure out how you can accommodate both transgender and traditional male / female athletes and have not succeeded. I know the Olympics and various international organizations have rules that would permit a transgender athlete based on personal history of when they transitioned and chemical tests to create a level playing field - obviously some transgender athletes would not meet the requirements because they would have an unfair advantage. For whatever reason, we don't seem in this country to want to try and figure it out

I'm a simple person and solving this whole sexual identity thing in sport seems simple to me. Male or female is a physical description of gender. Transgender is a personal sense of sexual identity unrelated to physical sexual identity.
What puzzles me is that so many people are ready to unfairly discriminate against women in sports just to appease a small minority.

And no testosterone test should be used to bypass this reality and appease the vocal minority. If you lived any part of your life past puberty as a male, you have irreversibly benefitted from being a male.
