Can we just post up inside, please? Every time we've gotten the ball in there a good shot has resulted That would make too much sense!!

Park-Lane has been just average tonight. She gets her points on drives and fouls.

It wasn't a pretty game, but I was never worried they would lose.

Not pretty. Gotta find their scoring punch.

I'm thinking the first half was a leftover from Monday night. The second half was definitely more like UCONN WBB... and if they'd played the whole game like that, my score prediction would've come true.

While these games are frustrating to watch, the team is still figuring out ways to win games when they are not playing all that well. That will serve them well down the stretch.

Agreed, a leftover from Monday night, but also from playing 10 games in about 22 days. The team at this point would benefit greatly from three or four days off. Once refreshed they will really start to look great again.

College kids, in February, which, if you've ever been on a campus in February, it SUCKS. Young college kids, with classes and routines screwed up by Covid. Add in Monday night, as you say, and the crunch of a lot of games in a short span, we're lucky that they can walk and chew gum. Jumping on the soap box, very briefly, that's part of my complaint with some fans, particularly on TOB: they forget that they're excoriating kids, expecting a level of perfection we don't get from anywhere else in our lives. That's crazy-talk. Enjoy it, guys: rejoice in their success, comfort them in failure.

Wicked night for Christyn. They just left her open on purpose a few times and she either missed or looked to pass. By far her worst game. But I still believe that the good stuff is there to be found. She is an AA candidate when she's right. Too late now to have any shot at that for the season, but she can bring it to games and will be needed for the tourney Liv played her best Dolson impression tonight: Stick a few from outside. Be the "play through" target on offense. Crash the boards. Maybe not the crushing picks Mama could put down Paige shooting Q by Q: 1 for 4, 2 for 5, 3 for 5, 4 for 5 Aaliyah plays C and Liv moves to PF on O. Tonight they switched on D. PF was a tough role against the Pirates with their four-guard speedy offense. Edwards did her best, but that's a tall order Nika ... a few freshman mistakes. But still starting at PG and "belonging" there as a frosh is great.

A visible decline in intensity tonight. I'll chalk it up to emotional tanks that were emptied on Monday. I don't think letting ONO play the de facto PG from the top of the key is a good idea. She can't make that shot and while she can pass she isn't quick enough in spotting open team mates. Seton Hall were the aggressors in the first half. UConn woke up in the 2nd.
No good dwelling on this game. Another on Friday, thank god.

She can't make that shot and while she can pass she isn't quick enough in spotting open team mates. Seton Hall were the aggressors in the first half. UConn woke up in the 2nd. No good dwelling on this game. Another on Friday, thank god. Two things SH did in this game: 1. Played WAY off Liv (and Aaliyah a little bit) and then mobbed her inside. If she steps in and takes some of that free space, her shots are more makeable, she'd in better position to vie for the boards, and a threat to just come all the way inside. That makes them decide how close is too close - a tough call. Come out too far, and Liv will kill them with backdoor passes. Give her too much room, and it is a near bunny from there. It also probably garners more fouls as they try to rush out to contest that short shot. 2. They set up the top of their zone at least two full steps behind the arc. That means that UCONN's weave passing gets either interrupted or is too far outside for anyone to be a threat to score. It also means that the top of the Key is WIDE open for Liv to step inside their perimeter. Which she did well (but could've been closer per #1 above). AE needs to learn to take that spot and make something of it. Aubrey does sometimes, but it wasn't her job tonight. At Marquette, Evina was often in that opening Combined, these two things begged for Liv to be where she was. The team got her the ball there, but didn't cut through the lane ... or move much at all early on. That eventually got better, and so did the scoring.

From my blog yesterday about the game. "This game is at home and I expect them to come out slow as usual but after that? A similar result to the first match up. UConn by 20+. " gph.is/1pzbXrR
