It might be sacrilege, but I believe the freshman Bueckers is a better player than the senior Dangerfield. Crazy huh. I agree. And that's no knock on Crystal at all. Bueckers is just that good Crystal was one of my favorite UConn player from her very first season there and she's excelled since graduating from UConn! She was very good early on at UConn, but Paige is better already I agree! If Paige continues to defer less and shoot more, she'll be unstoppable as will UConn! One very good habit that Crystal had during games was that she'd walk over to Geno when one of the teams was shooting free throws and she & Geno talked! She wasn't afraid of Geno and she took his advice & criticisms to heart!!! 2 heads are better than one, particularly when that extra insight emanates from Geno's noggin!!!! Paige also isn't afraid of Geno and she's downloading his insights bit by bit, but she also has more height and reach than Crystal had! If Paige hits the gym during the off-season and bulks up a bit; like Crystal did, she'll be even tougher!!? Paige is an up and coming ALPHA Husky and; in spite of Covid, she's headed for possibly the greatest UConn WCBB Freshman Season ever, but I don't wanna jinx her!!!

Small clarification. I meant to say, Paige can shoot, and is very good at it, but scoring isn't her game. Geno wants her to look to shoot more often, but not by much. She's averaging 18+ he wants 20+ ppg. BTW-Maya, Lou, KML, Stewie, D, Pheesa ... all were between those averages ... But Bueckers is special for another asset. Passing is her greatest strength. He needs opponents to presume a shot is coming, which will open up the passing lanes and make her little shimmy fake even more effective. He also knows that for this team to reach their highest goals, offense needs to come from everyone on the floor. That's a bit of a struggle just now for some, but it will come. I sure hope CW shines in Chicago tomorrow. Both she and Olivia having good games would be great!!

You are correct about Bueckers' special asset. But IMO, it's even better than many people realize. I believe she's having to play in 2nd gear due to her teammate's lack of experience and inability to utilize the picks and screens built into the offense properly to get people open. No knock on Dangerfield but if Bueckers had played on that team with KLS, Collier, and Williams, they might have averaged 95 PPG. With the offensive movement of those 3 she would've been lethal. Her ability to see the floor is ridiculous plus she has a 6 inch advantage over CD to see over the defense. The faster the game, the more dangerous she is. It might be sacrilege, but I believe the freshman Bueckers is a better player than the senior Dangerfield. Crazy huh. I wouldn't disagree with you on that. I think PB is a better shooter and while CD is faster, PB's overall court vision and size allows her to control the pace a little better. However, I think CD is better as a pro than in college, again because the game is faster which I think helps creative players. PB's development will be beautiful to watch.

Yes; as a freshman, she has often motioned to Olivia, Anna, Evina or Christyn where to go / cut so she can get them the ball and they can score! Paige and Evina seem to have the most mature basketball mindsets on this team! If she had played on the post Stewie teams, we'd likely have had 8 straight NCAA Tournament Titles!! If Paige remains relatively healthy and she bulks up a bit in the gym, she'll be WNBA Rookie of the Year and an Olympic star as well!!!! Right now I'd easily say she's one of the top 10 DI WCBB Players easily!!

Crystal also had the good fortune to be drafted by a team that needed a point guard and had a very good head coach who didn't doubt her because of her height! The Lynx all played good team basketball like UConn and Crystal fit right in to their system!

I can't count the number of times Paige has set up one of her teammates with a nice pass and they either miss the layup or pass up an easy open shot .........
