I went back and watched Beers vs. ND in sweet 16 last night. She is a very dependable low block scorer and step away and hit the foul line jumper. She is physical and takes up space and rebounds. I'd love to see her at Uconn! What do I love the most, she has great hands and footwork !

For me, it's about her and Ice splitting duties at the post. Both have work to do and can complement the other.
They'll be playing each other in practice, and that's the best way to improve. Like this:
fingers and toes crossed.

Beers is a real space eater and as tough as nails, she played with a broken nose too. If her character fits the Huskies could do a lot worse.

Like this: fingers and toes crossed. Everything I saw from Ice this season showed me she is really most comfortable as a high post player. Wouldn't it be great for Uconn to have a solid low post presence that opposition has to constantly plan for . This will open up so many more possibilityies on both sides of the ball. I'm not saying Ice can't play in the low post, but she naturally gravitates and looks more comfortable away from the basket so she can show off her mid range jumper.

She is the real deal. If she does come to UConn their odds jump up. SECreme will have to redo his early rankings. After a little research ... ESPN HS Rating #10: www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/242241/raegan-beersA bit less-athletic version of Aaliyah. Strong. Listed as 6'4", but I have seen a few suggesting that measurement may have been ... generous. Was listed 6-2 in HS recruiting. Reliable double double maker. Defensively, she holds her ground well inside - not easy to back down. Not likely to defend guards like Aaliyah does so well. Offensively: Good footwork. Crafty and flexible with shorter range, but reliable face-up shooting from 12+ feet and in ... somewhat similar to Monika Czianno.

Chantel Jennings in The Athletic lists and discusses the top 16 portallers. I don't know if this is behind a paywall, so I'll just give the list without including the discussion, except for Beers, since she's of such interest to UConn fans, and Timea Gardiner who is also worthy of attention.
It's not exactly the way I'd order up the list, but who cares?
1. Raegan Beers, Oregon State sophomore forward,17.5 PPG, 10.3 RPG, 66 FG% As a first-team All-Pac-12 selection and former Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and conference Sixth Player of the Year, she’s going to hear from a lot of programs. She’s an elite offensive talent and an excellent defender who could be a foundational player for almost any program in the country. She shoots 69 percent at the rim, according to Pivot Analysis, and has a Mackenzie Holmes-like game, except Beers is only a sophomore. 2. Taliah Scott, Arkansas freshman guard,22.1 PPG, 3.3 rebounds per game RPG, 41 FG % 3. Kaitlyn Chen, Princeton senior guard,15.8 PPG, 5.0 APG, 3.5 RPG, 49 FG% 4. Talia von Oelhoffen, Oregon State junior guard,10.7 PPG, 5.0 APG, 4.1 RPG, 39 FG% 5. Saylor Poffenbarger, Arkansas redshirt sophomore guard,10.2 PPG, 11.2 RPG (9.4 defensive RPG), 36 FG% 6. Timea Gardiner, Oregon State sophomore forward,11.6 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 45 FG%, 40 3 PT FG% if you saw her play in the NCAA Tournament, you understand why she’s so high on this list. The 6-3 forward can finish in the paint against larger posts, but Gardiner also has range and is a high-volume 3-point shooter (five attempts per game). Playing in Oregon State’s system requires a lot of defensive discipline, so she’ll bring that, plus an excellent defensive rebounding ability, to her next team. 7. Janiah Barker, Texas A&M sophomore forward,12.2 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 48 FG% 8. Lucy Olsen, Villanova junior guard,23.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.8 APG 9. Hailey Van Lith, LSU senior guard,11.6 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 3.6 APG, 38 FG% 10. Jordan Obi, Penn junior guard,14.8 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 2.3 APG, 39 3PT% 11. Ajae Petty, Kentucky senior forward,14.2 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 51 FG% 12. Deja Kelly, North Carolina senior guard,16.3 PPG, 3.2 APG, 3.9 RPG, 35 FG% 13. Alyssa Latham, Syracuse freshman forward,8.6 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 46 FG% 14. Laila Phelia, Michigan junior guard,16.8 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.2 SPG 15. Shay Ciezki, Penn State sophomore guard,11.5 PPG, 2.4 APG, 42 FG% 16. Maddie Scherr, Kentucky senior guard,12.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3.4 APG, 34 FG%

It’s getting interesting. Beers has a “do not contact” on her portal info. That means she has settled on her team. Now add in the fact that Paige, KK, Coach Valley, Shade, Morgan C, Allie, Yana are all now following her? Like I said, interesting. YES! LFG!!!!!!!

A UConn fan said this - "I hate to pour cold water on the idea of Reagan Beers to UConn, but after watching her play a few times, she really doesn’t fit well with the Huskies style of play. She’s obviously a big, strong kid who can bang with opposing post players in the paint and set some serious screens. But her mobility is limited. I’m not sure she’s the post player you want on the floor to run UConn’s motion offense. I could be wrong, but I would pursue Kaitlin Weimer from Boston U before Beers." I guess this guy didn't watch the Beers highlight video. She is big but very mobile. Posting up and setting screens? God forbid we get a player like that. And Caitlin Weimer is a very good player but look at the difference in the competition these two played. I'll take the AP All-American if you don't mind. I would be happy with either. They would both be great additions. Iriafen would be an insane addition but that is just speculation at this point. Whatever happens, I hope NONE of them end up at South Carolina!!!

San Francisco newspaper says that she probably knows where she's going already. If not us then my guess would be ND or Duke. I think her parents are Nigerian and emphasize academics. That should rule out SC and LSU! I suppose she could go to UCLA (reunite with Betts) or USC (terrible coach but they have JuJu). Actually, the more I look into it, the more I think UCLA is our primary competition. They could be a big problem next year.

Probably leaving Stanford because she wants a championship, national exposure, and maybe some intermediate NIL. UCLA might be a logical place for all of that. Somewhat terrifying have her and Betts on the same team.
This April scramble can be disheartening to fans and certainly for coaches....

I hope we don't miss out on a big. We don't need more guards at this point it seems. There appears to be a rumor that Iriafen is looking to stay on the West Coast. USC? UCLA? With Azzi now following Beers you have - Paige, KK, Coach Valley, Shade, Morgan C, Allie, Yana, Azzi, Caroline and Coach Cardoza all following her. Azzi is not just a simple follow. She doesn't usually follow or get in volved in social media. It's a big deal for her to do it.
