We need another big who can "position in the low post." I think that Geno et al. are trying to teach Ice about this, but it takes time. Look we have to have reasonable expectations. We are down FIVE major contributors. FIVE. Other teams have lost one or two, like Texas or ND (now up to three) and everyone say oh they lost a person, no wonder. But FIVE. C'mon. And it's been that way for three years. That we are still a top 15 team is a miracle. It IS a miracle, what this coaching staff and players have accomplished so far is incredible. 2 All American caliber players, best 6th person in the country and 2 key front court reserves all out and yet here they are. Not just winning, thriving. 3 PG's, a shooting guard and a forward in the starting lineup. That's just nuts, and they make it work.

The only thing I disagree with on the 2025 chart is whether Griffin returns. I think she will, even if her rehab extends into 2025. She has to rehab the knee in any case so why not do it in Storrs with a fantastic training staff? That would still leave one roster spot open for you know who.
Those who are thinking that Muhl will stay forget that she can't earn NIL money and she has basically not been with her family for any extended time for the last 4 years. I think she will try for the W this coming summer as a drafted player but her future will be in the Euro league and the Croatian national team.

I pretty much agree with everything Linkster said in this post.

Make all of the facilities and doctors available to Aubrey. UConn did the same thing for Christyn Williams apparently. This is a very similar situation imo.

I don't believe he's in the business of reneging on offers. I think he's been expecting Griffin to leave and her question about her eligibility caught him off guard.

340+ Division 1 teams in NCAA women's basketball. Less than 10 have equivalent or better talent than UConn.
- Geno - 11 NC, master recruiter & teacher.
- Paige - NPOY & former #1 recruit.
- Aaliyah - All American & former #23 recruit.
- Nika - Croatian first tier league.
- Ice - #5 recruit.
- KK - #6 recruit.
- Ash - #15 recruit.
- Q - #45 recruit.
UConn's unparalleled success has not occurred with rosters full of HS players ranked outside top 100. Which is what 300 D1 teams annually have on rosters.
Talent and execution matter. UConn still has more talent and better execution than 330+ teams. Not sure why fans seem reluctant to admit this.

I think Aubrey might come back also. Her dad got a PHD if I remember correctly. She may be open to getting more education so maybe she stays.

With a full roster and a 7-8 man rotation set by Jan., I don't think he'll alter that for minimal PT with Griffin who will still be trying to get cleared just for full practice.

Are we drifting into a discussion about thread drift? :-)
Since this thread is for those seeking information, as much as opinion, about future recruits, it behooves us all to keep it on target.

When do we expect a commitment from Strong at this point? Not that they r the same player but I think it’s like the Boston re recruitment. If we miss it’s huge. If we land her it’s pole position for NCs with current cast.

April 17th - May 15th. That’s the official signing period. I think UConn would prefer to be working on 2025 and 2026 at this point. This isn’t their style to still be working on this class.
Why did the thread drift a bit there? Because there are a lot of UConn fans on this board starved for recruiting news. And UConn has been really quiet as of late. The last verbal was Gandy. And that was July. So, 6 months ago. Half a year.

Could it impact recruiting? Maybe, but that should be a separate thread.

She has all the information to make her decision. Maybe a brief call or text from one of the coaches every so often, assuming UConn's still in play. There really isn't a "style" here....

There maybe have been phone calls and other interactions. Additionally, I wasn’t only talking about Strong. I am also talking about Rodriguez.

BTW, great news that apparently we're appearently still in the running! Yeah, I believe it was Cardoza. And that is why her appearance was noteworthy. It proved UConn had not thrown in the towel or been told no yet. And look. My argument here is UConn maybe don't know which players will want an extra year. So, I would assume they wish they knew every player that is coming in. That would make things less complicated. It is possible that Rodriguez is a silent commit. (Or a silent no.)

Well not specific to a particular player in recruiting, BUT, UCONN has 15 "Athletic" scholarships it can use. There are other kinds of scholarships. Also Scholarships and Roster aren't the same. UCONN has had a Roster of 16 players a couple times (not for awhile - back near the turn of the century/millennium).
